RCMP Fingerprints for waivers, processing (wait) times?

Boposted 8 years ago

Hi,

Does anyone have a general idea on RCMP fingerprint check processing times, whether you had one done at the police station or thru a company.

I kind of get the realization depending on the criminal record it could be as fast as a couple of weeks, to a standstill of nearly a year.

A simple guideline would be helpful ... this is my 1st waiver I am applying for and this forum has got some great tips and ideas on how to get it done myself instead of paying like thousands of dollars.

RCMP website says 120 days is the normal standard.

Thanks for the help!!

Finally got a message saying prints were just mailed out. 7 months exactly.

@Greg I submitted my prints through Commissionaires and it's going on 7 months, not 4 months.

I work for an accredited fingerprint company Commissionaires NS ID Services and it is taking 4 months to get the results back. We process the prints for all reasons, employment, US Waivers, Immigration, Record Suspensions, etc.
We also can help with the process for applying for a Record Suspension or a US Waiver at half the cost of the other providers out there.

Mine took six months..yes its not out of the ordinary, sorry

I filed my prints March 2, 2016 and I'm still waiting! I've been emailing them every month but they keep telling me it's still being processed. Is it normal to take this long??

I applied on April 22, 2016. Still waiting. I contacted RCMP and they advised that processing time is 120 working days or longer. Completely disappointed. I hope to receive the certificate as everyone above in around 4,5 month.

just filed today.....hoping for quick turnaround lol

Mine took 4 months. Applied directly at the RCMP. I have a record and it takes that long every time.

Sandra: so > 120 days too I see.

For me: Dec. 27/15 to May 9/16.

Interestingly, when I had done my previous waiver back in 2013 the results came back within a WEEK, and both this year's and back then I used the same accredited electronic fingerprinting service.

My prints came in today. Prints were taken March 8th/2016 at my local Police Station and came July 21/2016.

Just got RCMP fingerprint check back in the mail today dated june 20th 2016, so exactly 19 weeks or roughly 4.5 months...and my waiver was dated june 13th 2016 and got it June 20th and it took about the same time to process.... around a couple of weeks to get RCMP letter in the mail... US postal was about a 1 week for the US waiver if anyone is looking for rough estimates or guidelines and I'm in located in Vancouver.

Good luck!

Next week it will be five months so fingers crossed it will come within next week. I will post as soon as I get it

Ruby replied 7 years ago   #12

@Vancity Girl ... 4 and half months + is the norm as of the end of this month, if you did yours in December it should be arriving in the next couple of weeks hopefully.

Bo replied 7 years ago   #11

I have been waiting four and a half months now. I summitted my prints at a local police station at the beginning of Dec... still nothing yet from Ottawa.

Vancity Girl replied 7 years ago   #10

@ mon ... no there is no way to speed up the process .... it's a waiting process like the rest of us... some get it faster than others.... hopefully before 17 weeks what I was told.

Bo replied 7 years ago   #9

Is there any way to speed up the processing time? I desperately need it as soon as possible

mon replied 7 years ago   #8

Is there a difference in processing time if you have your prints done at a Fingerprinting company vs Police station?

Sandra replied 7 years ago   #7

Took about 12 weeks for me this last time :(. I submitted in September electronically, didn't receive until after Xmas.

Tim replied 7 years ago   #6

my last two waivers I have received my rcmp prints back within two weeks.
I have a pardon so no criminal record shows up.
If your record shows a criminal record then you will have these long wait times.

Jack2 replied 8 years ago   #5

I did my rcmp fingerprints dated on feb. 26 2016 from a accredited fingerprinting company. Will keep you posted on when I receive them. Hoping 2-3 months.

Fingers crossed!
