What should company letter for USWaiver say ?

JHposted 6 years ago

Hi there,

I am applying for the first time. I have all the documents completed. My company sends engineers quite often to US for attending different seminars and sometimes for assisting customers. Company CEO knows my situation and has offered to provide a company letter. What should be the contents of this letter? How to go about it?

Thanks,

JH

Yeah, your explanation makes sense. The new version of the letter looks good.

Good luck!

@Nick

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought paystub is needed only when you are applying for waiver where you previously overstayed in US and need to prove to them you are working in Canada and not planning to stay in US for long.

Thanks for quick feedback guys. YES, it will DEFINITELY have the company letter head.

Roger, I added these lines since I am a new employee of the company and if they are speaking on my behalf then they should acknowledge that they know me for a short while rather than being questioned, "Why would the company trust him as they only have known him for ~90 days." ??? So I wanted it mentioned that its not long but its been good. lol

I think I can take out the line

We request that JH be permitted to enter United States of America by granting him a US Waiver.

Ofcourse thats the intention so I guess doesn't need mentioning.

Will you guys agree???

I think your letter is fine! Like @ABC mentioned, include letterhead or logo, manager signature and contact info.

I personally don't think you need this:

JH has demonstrated good behavior and professionalism in the short amount of time that he has been with the company.

We request that JH be permitted to enter United States of America by granting him a US Waiver.

My letter from my employer was simply 3 lines giving ARO what they asked for.

There are opportunities to explain your situation in the other letter you need to write that explains why you did, what you did and how remorseful your are. Plus opportunities for your references to back up your character.

In the end, up to you on how much detail you need your employer to add to the letter.

Good luck!

@JH

Make sure it has the letter head or logo of the company if your going that short, in all fairness it is good.

I have done others, which go in to greater detail that has helped....but it's your call.

@JH

Obtain a current dated and signed letter from your employer, addressed "To Whom it May Concern", which indicates your occupation and length of employment. If you are required to enter the U.S. for business, the letter must state the frequency and duration of your intended visits. If you are self-employed, retired, or unable to provide a letter from your employer, please enclose a copy of your latest income tax assessment from Canada Revenue Agency.
