@Mikecan

I submitted early November so I'm now at the 4 month mark and expecting a decision anytime now. I figured I'd give it another month before inquiring per suggested time of 150 days before checking

Does anyone received waiver who filled in Dec or nov

Samianauman replied 7 years ago   #440

I applied on October 1st at Pearson Airport! I requested an update last week and was told it was sent in the mail on February 17th to the address they have on file.

Not sure how long it takes by regular mail. If it does not come in the mail by end of next week, I will need to follow up. I used a waiver company in Vancouver, not sure if it was sent to them.

Does anyone know how long it takes to arrive? How long would you wait before escalating?

Thanks

Thanks for the info. As I stated before, I have been approved on 3 previous waivers with no changes in my life. Fingers crossed.

Hawk replied 7 years ago   #438

@Hawk - Hopefully they implemented these new changes:

At a recent liaison meeting between AILA and the CBP Office of Field Operations, CBP’s ARO announced a significant change in practice.

Beginning in January 2017, the ARO will approve all I-192 waivers – initial waivers and renewals – for a 5 year period, with limited exceptions.
For individuals with waivers pending for over 1 year, the ARO will issue a decision within 40-60 business days after receiving a follow-up inquiry from the applicant or attorney of record.

Has anyone recently applied for a waiver and got it after having marijuana charges? Seems like they tend to take longer for people applying who have drug charges. Can anyone on this forum relate to applying while having a previous drug charge? Thanks

Got it today!
5 years and it took 4.5 months to receive

Nancy replied 7 years ago   #427

Uscis is stating 90 days before you can inquire. Does this mean waivers will be done faster? I applied Dec 1st. 1st waiver. Minor charges from 10 years ago and I did it myself. Not sure if I will inquire at 90 days. I also have a pending i-130 and was told that may make them deny me.... hoping for the best.

Cdn replied 7 years ago   #425

Applied Oct 4th at YVR. Received Feb 15. 1st waiver good for 5 years. Did myself....with help from this site and http://waiverlawyer.com outdated info and forms now but it was enough to get an idea of how to answer some of the questions they ask.

Has anyone received a waiver since Trump got into office or do you think there will be major delays now?
