Current waiver turnaround time?

JDToronto416posted 3 months ago

HI there, just discovered this site - great idea. Thank you.
I have been successfully applying for waivers since 1999, for a minor charge (no criminal record).
5 years ago, my renewal took 3 months.
I've currently been waiting since July (6 months) for renewal.
My last waiver expired in October so I can't enter US right now.
Has anyone been approved recently and if so what was the turnaround time?

My other issue is that when I applied for the renewal I had 9 months left on the passport. Because it's been taking so long, I've now got a new passport. So the passport associated with the application is now near expiry date and no longer valid. Anyone know if there is a way to update a filed application?

Thanks!
JD, Toronto

To the ARO on Sept 5. Should I expect to see a reply in Feb. that will be 5 months.

@JDToronto416
-Your passport was just to show you are Canadian. No need to update, you are STILL Canadian.
-They are processing June 2nd waivers right now. You are July so I would assume February for you.

5 years ago it took.....

I don't know why people expect everything to stay the same. 5 years is a LONG time. My clients say the same thing.
