No criminal history just an overstay from 12 years ago. Emailed two weeks ago and received the standardized response (received, being processed, no set time frame etc) still waiting. I will update when I receive an answer.

Where did u applied I applied at rainbow bridge last time when I applied Thry approved me in under 3 months

I emailed for an update Friday afternoon. Today they emailed back saying:

Your application was received and is being processed. Due to the individual circumstances of each waiver application, there is not a set timeframe to give as to when an application decision will be completed.

I applied Dec 1st. Fingers crossed it will be done this month. Also I didn't put my A # because I don't know mine yet.

Looks like nobody getting waiver now days applied Dec 4 almost 4 months now what's going on

Samianauman replied 7 years ago   #478

The 'A Number' is basically your file number... it is what gets assigned to you, after you submit your application.

It's been quite a while since I did my initial application, and I can't remember if I was assigned this number right away (when I first applied at the border), or if they sent me a letter sometime later, letting my know my file number (A-number).

Either way, if you don't have your A-Number, then I would first suggest you contact them and get it. It's basically what they are going to need, in order to look up your file, and give you a status update. Without it, they will likely ignore your request...

what is your a number thanks again

linda hawley replied 7 years ago   #476

Make sure to include your full name as it appears on the application, your date of birth, your 'A Number' (if you have one already), the port of entry or pre-clearance where you filed your application and the date that you filed the application. My email subject was 'I-192 Waiver application status'. This information was all in a previous post Email. inquiry.waiver.aro@dhs.gov

Pet replied 7 years ago   #475

linda hawley replied 7 years ago   #474

I emailed ARO last nite and received a reply today that a decision was made today

I applied on Oct 22/17

Pet replied 7 years ago   #473

This the automatic reply u get when u email to ARO

This email address is for questions regarding the status of applications on file with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Admissibility Review Office (ARO). The ARO is responsible for the following applications: Form I-192, Application for Advance Permission to Enter as Nonimmigrant, Form I-212, Application for Permission to Reapply for Admission into the United States After Deportation or Removal, and Form I-824, Application for Action on an Approved Application or Petition. Please note the ARO will respond to inquiries on the latter form only in those instances where the action is related to obtaining a duplicate approval notice for a Form I-192 or I-212.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Every request for application status must contain the date the application was submitted to CBP. You will receive a follow-up e-mail to your inquiry if you provide this information and your application has been on file with CBP for a minimum of 150-days.
If you are an attorney or other recognized representative with a signed Form G-28 on file, you may submit an inquiry to attorneyinquiry.waiver.aro@dhs.gov. You will receive a follow-up e-mail if your application has been on file with CBP for a minimum of 150-days and you provide the date the application was submitted to CBP.

Information on filing any of the forms noted in this response can be found at www.cbp.gov and accessed by entering the form number, i.e., “I-192” in the “SEARCH” box.

@srt1
Yes, they take credit cards. I used my Mastercard.

Roger replied 7 years ago   #471

@Roger, thanks for the reply. one more question? Do they accept the credit card?

srt1 replied 7 years ago   #470

Nevermind, I found the answer!

Roger replied 7 years ago   #469

Question for those who have used a waiver ...

I read your back on page 15 that once you get your 1-192, upon travelling to the
U.S., you need to still get a I-94 form? Arrival/Departure record?

If I am flying to Chicago next week, how does this work?

Roger replied 7 years ago   #468

@srt1
I got there around 12AM. There was 1 guy ahead of me. CBP brought out a signup sheet between 4am to 5am. There were roughly 6 people at that time. By the time CBP opened at 8am, there were 20 people on that list and more poured in soon after.

The guy ahead of me messed up with his RCMP finger prints and his application was void. So I was moved ahead to top spot.

I was finished everything just before 11AM as the first person. I can't tell you how long others took.

Expect a long wait and pack your patience. Worth it to get there at 11PM the night before and ensure #1 spot if YYZ is your only option.

I hear the land crossing locations are not busy but a much longer drive.

Roger replied 7 years ago   #467

@Roger, At what time did you go to YYZ? how much times does it take?

srt1 replied 7 years ago   #466

I applied on Dec 4th at rainbow bridge waiting for response as well hoping to get in 3 to 4 weeks

Samianauman replied 7 years ago   #465

@Roger @Snoopy
Mine was also dated March 13th, postmarked on the 14th, arrived on the 23rd.
Seems most are getting theirs within the 5 month mark.
Still can't believe it's such a sensitive document and they are still using regular mail!!!!

Nancy replied 7 years ago   #464

Mine decision finally came in the mail today.

March 11 - Followed up with ARO see if it was in fact mailed
March 14 - ARO confirmed condo # was missing and would resend
March 24 - Waiver received for 5 year period! Came in by regular mail
