Got your I-194?

Reply here with how long it took. Months, weeks, days...

Replies (recent first):

@Live&love

Interesting because my responses have been in reverse order and I was curious about this as well. Also a first time applicant and coming up to the 10 month mark

@5 months (150 days) ...... received and being processed
@6 months ..... pending further review
@7 months ..... pending results further security checks
@8 months ..... pending further review

Live&Love this is kind of the standard message reply that they send back. Waivers can take as long as CBP sees fit. They do not have a time table. Stay positive and wait to see what they say. I can give you one tip. Do not email them too much because they do not like that.

I've sent various emails to the ARO regarding the status of my application. I have had these replies in order, "pending further review", "pending secondary checks" , now "application has been received and is being processed". Has anyone received the last update and has recieved their waiver shortly after? I'm wondering why it's taking so long? This is my first waiver. I've been patiently waiting 7 and half months. Hoping it will come soon. All I can do is be positive and hopeful.

Live&love replied 6 years ago   #660

Ummm..... actually this is not necessarily true. There are actually very few absolutes in this business. Each waiver case can take any amount of time as CBP sees fit. There is no 4-5 month timetable. We have cases pending for 9 months now. One case pended for 2 years. Plus the book says that you can inquire anytime after 90 days and they do indeed reply for the most part. You may not like the Below is a link to an email that we just got yesterday from a client with a sexual assault offence.

As Of August 2017 waivers are taking about 4.5 months. I track all the waivers I do, and I have a lot in the pipeline at any one given time. Right now if you inquire via email before 150 days they will not reply to you. Questions? Call 416-843-1371 thats my cell #.

Well you can try appealing...but don't be surprised if they deny it. Please let us know if they approve your case if you decide to appeal.

L.S. replied 6 years ago   #657

Me too. I heard almost every appeal was granted a waiver. I was so worried I was going to be denied and I researched the appeal and was going to appeal if I was denied.

@Kal thanks for the encouragement! I really appreciate!

@L.S. thanks for the information! I really appreciate!

Anymore May waivers?

jill replied 6 years ago   #653

@orchid168...I have heard of many people get denied, appeal and then win the appeal. Just do ur own research.

Kal replied 6 years ago   #652

Orchid168...honestly I would not waste my money on an appeal. You can try but I do not think that you will win. They don't grant appeals that often and are a cash grab for lawyers only. If you do it yourself then I think you likely will not win on appeal. The way to win is how the waiver is initially prepared so you can be successful. If you are denied, then we have to see what reason they gave for the denial and overcome those reasons. Depending on the denial reason, you may have to wait a few years and then resubmit the new pack with ways to overcome the denial. We have successfully done this before but we need to see the denial letter. There is no charge for looking at it and Ken will give you a bluntly honest answer as to your success. Call him at 604 332-9213.

You have to submit an I-824 to get a replacement copy of an approved waiver. We are assuming that you are approved. Sometimes and I mean sometimes....The aro will send you a replacement copy(if you ask them in email) if you are nice to them and they are in a good mood...Otherwise, you have to file the I-824 and pay the USA govt processing fee of $455 to get a replacement copy. We have done it for our clients before.

Call 604 332-9213 and talk to Ken about it. He knows this stuff better than any of us here and has been in this field for both government and now privately since 1998. He won't charge you to talk on the phone and can tell you how to fix it yourself if you wish.

Hello L.S., thanks for replying. The letter did not reach my house address. Me and my brother both applied on same date and my brother received 5 year waiver on June 19, 2017 after they mailed on June 12 but they mailed mine on June 19 but it did not reach my house. I dont know what to do if they do not reply to my email when I ask them to resend me?

Jag Sidhu replied 6 years ago   #649

Hello every one ,

I need urgent help on how to appeal. If you have done it before, could you let me know the following:

1) to which address did you send it?

2) how did you sent it?

3) how did you make the payment? TO WHICH DEPARTMENT?

4) did you request Oral Argument? we live in Toronto

5) did you send separate written brief?

any information will be helpful.

I have been waiting for 13 months , i have no criminal record , but i admitted to having a sugar daddy so they assumed i was coming into the states for alleged "prostitution" . This is my first time applying for a waiver so not sure if that plays a factor on why it is taking so long. can someone please give me any insight or direction because I see people with a criminal record getting approvals in 4-6 months . How is that fair to someone that does not even have a criminal record?

Aaliyah replied 6 years ago   #647

You cannot call the ARO and ask them to send a replacement. Plus, they don't like receiving too many emails from same people. Did you lose the original that they mailed you? You have to request one in writing and there is a process to get it.

L.S. replied 6 years ago   #646

Could someone please tell me if ARO has any contact number I can call on because they are not replying my email and not resending me my first lost letter in the way. It has been 2 months they sent my letter and have not resend it back and every time I email them to resend it, they do not reply.

kenman replied 6 years ago   #644

Hi there, I have been checking this forum for intel on when I would get a waiver. Applied March 21-2017 at the Peace Bridge, received waiver yesterday. Dated July 10-2017, post marked Aug 10 , and received on the 15th. So the waiver was approved for a month before it got mailed out. In case there are others waiting for the Peace Bridge as well. First time applying, by myself, 5 year waiver. good luck all !!
